Does hormone therapy still carry a black-box warning?
For most systemic menopause hormone therapies, no. In 2026 the FDA moved to remove the boxed warnings for cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, and probable dementia. An endometrial-cancer warning remains for systemic estrogen taken without progesterone by women with a uterus.
Is hormone therapy safe for me?
For many women with moderate to severe symptoms who start within about ten years of menopause, the evidence supports treatment after an individual evaluation. Certain histories, including breast cancer, blood clots, and stroke, change or end that conversation. Not everyone is a candidate, and results vary; that is what the evaluation is for.
Do I stop seeing my gynecologist?
No. Your gynecologist continues your screenings and gynecologic care. Dr. Sharma manages the hormonal side: evaluation, prescribing, labs, and follow-up, coordinated with your other physicians.
What does menopause care cost?
It is included in the Metabolic & Hormone Membership at $199 a month at the founding rate (first 10 members; the rate rises after). New patients begin with a $149 initial evaluation, credited toward your first month if you enroll. The membership covers ongoing medical management; medication is billed separately at your pharmacy. There is no initiation fee.
